Unreal Engine Character Technical Director


We are looking for an Unreal Engine Character TD who specializes in Autodesk Maya.
Remote, full time position, flexible working hours as long as deadlines are met.
As a Character TD you will be responsible for creating character setups and technical pipelines, including rigging  for Unreal engine and supporting the team with tools/scripts that streamline the process.


  • Design, create, test, and maintain character rigs/setups for UE4 using Maya
  • Communicate with modelers to make sure the modelling practices are up to rigging standards
  • Develop new techniques and processes to solve character production challenges
  • Capable of writing pipeline tools to streamline the setup process
  • Effectively communicate with production management to prioritize and plan tasks on a daily basis
  • Collaborate with animators to design motion controls
  • Training and mentoring Junior Riggers


  • 1 year of professional rigging\Character TD experience minimum
  • In depth knowledge of the game rigging pipeline for Unreal Engine
  • Experience setting up production pipelines, while being able to follow guidelines
  • Knowledge of rigging in Maya is a must
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent self research abilities
  • Experience with bone hair physics, and any other physics systems in UE4 is desirable
  • Ability to create optimized game-ready rigs


  • Scripting, automation with Pyhton, MEL
  • Experience with Locomotion Systems for Unreal Engine
